This plant activity is an inquiry-based field study that was published in NSTA Science and Childen Magazine in 2009. It is an easy and effective field study for any age and illustrates well the timing of plant growth in the wild to optimize flower development, pollination and seed dispersal. Try it in the school yard in the spring.
