What Can You Do to Help

Some things that people can do to save energy when they build or furnish their homes:

  • Add low flow showers heads, toilets and washing machines.
  • Build in big, south facing windows with insulated shades.
  • Use insulation made from recycled paper cellulose to keep heat inside in the winter and outside in the summer.
  • Add solar panels for heating water and radiant heat floors for heating the house.
  • Use recycled plastic carpets, decks and even roof tiles.
