They are found in Alaska, central and southeastern Canada, south through much of the U.S. and into Northern Mexico.
They live in pastures, fields and meadows.
They are light yellow with wide black wing edges. Females have yellow spots in the black border. Underneath, they are greenish-yellow. They have a wingspan of up to 2.5".
Males fly around quickly looking for females.
The caterpillar feeds on clover.
The females lay one egg on a clover leaf. When the caterpillar hatches, it will start eating leaves.
