Naturalist, Sheri Amsel, has developed educational nature trails for schools, camps and nature centers all over the country. Her Nature Trail for Every SchoolProgram is an all-inclusive program to develop an educational trail at your school.

The naturalist will evaluate the trail site, whether field, forest, wetland or just a simple hedgerow. She will identify species, develop a map, lesson plans and a guide for your trail. Teachers will receive an activity packet with 20 activities that are aligned with national science curriculum standards for K-8. Teachers can find additional activities on the exploringnature.org website and request new activities over time. Cost for trail development is $500 plus travel expenses.

Schools can add additional School Program day(s) for:

  • The “All About Animals and Plants” slideshow, a the natural history (animals and plants) presentation showing animals and plants you would find on your trail and animal signs to look for
  • Drawing sessions with classes, where students learn to draw species on their trail to be included in the trail guide or used for a trail sign.
  • An optional book signing with Sheri Amsel’s books offered at educational prices, including, A Wetland Walk and other books.
