Range

They are found in the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Habitat

They live in the rainforest and on rubber plantations.

Body Traits

They are about 8 inches long with large flaps of skin between their front and back legs on their sides. Usually they hold the flaps folded at their sides, but they can hold them out using special, movable ribs to carry the lizard on a glide through the trees.

Habits

They glide from tree to tree.

Diet

They eat insects, mostly ants.

Predators

Large birds, cats.

Reproduction

Females bury 1 - 4 eggs in the ground. She will guard the nest for a day and then leave it. The eggs hatch after a month.
